30th April 2007 Day 1

Dear Mum,

Just a quick note to let you know I am doing well and am happy in my new home. You have made the right decision even though it was a hard one and I will look forward to your visits.

Millie has told me who is boss, so I will let her be for now, but I won’t let her pull your towel over my eyes for too long!!

I have sniffed noses with Ashley the grey cat through the screen door, I was very gentle and she did not hiss at me which is a good start for us all.

I enjoyed my dinner tonight and licked the bowl clean! As usual.

I have finally learnt how to get through the plastic flaps on the doggy door. I had to be enticed with food at first, but I now know what to do. Gerard did tie them back for me to get used to it.

I have been for a short walk with Jill and Gerard before it started to rain and Jill has some tiny treats for me when I am good! I overheard Jill talking and she is going to take me to the hill!! Hmm wonder what that is all about?

Wow all that water, I cannot wait til I am off the lead. Those swans look like fun to chase as well as some ducks and I noticed some magpies hanging around for their daily feed!

Someone came to the front door and I was the good one, did not bark, it was Millie who did all the barking!

I know it was hard for you to make this decision and I know you were sad when you left me here today, but I hope soon it will be tears of happiness for me.

Don’t forget you are welcome to come and visit and bring the children too.

Jill has introduced me to her friends over the internet and has told them that I come with family and so she now has an extended family which is wonderful for us all!

Well I had better go now and get stuck into this delicious bone I have in front of me.
